JCMT 2024 Women’s Q&A

After the success of our 2023 ‘Ladies’ Night’, we will once again be running an online session for potential female applicants in 2024. Women thinking of applying to our Summer Alpine Courses are invited to join us on Zoom to hear an overview of the courses and to ask any questions they may have about the application process or the courses themselves.

Despite increasing numbers of women getting involved in climbing, both indoors and out, we still see relatively few applications from women to our Summer Alpine Courses. The aim of this Q&A session is to help demystify the application process for potential female applicants and to answer any questions or concerns that they may have about attending a JCMT course.

The course will take place on 24 January at 7PM UK time. You can sign up to attend here and will be sent a Zoom link ahead of the event.

The event will be chaired by JCMT Trustee Amy Illingworth and will also feature Lou Reynolds, a British Mountain Guide and one of the regular instructors on our courses.

As with last year’s event, trans women and non-binary individuals are encouraged to attend.

We hope to see you there. Last year’s event had 50 sign ups and was extremely popular with attendees, leading to an uptick in female applicants to our courses.
